Game Review: VASARA Collection (PS Vita) – Video

VASARA Collection

Everyone loves a good arcade game and we’re no exception here at Vita Player. Japanese arcade developer Visco released two bullet hell shoot-em-ups, Vasara and Vasara 2 in 2000 and 2001 respectively. Neither were released in the West… until now, courtesy of indie developer QUByte. They have collected both games together and brought them to the home in the VASARA Collection.

The VASARA Collection brings both into a single release in near-perfect arcade ports for the PS Vita, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Available as a digital download for the Vita from the PlayStation Store (or as a limited physical release from Strictly Limited Games), both games fit into a memory card friendly 183Mb download. Enhanced for the PlayStation TV, is this retro compilation something to be relished by arcade fans or something to be avoided?

Watch our review and find out. As always, the score for the VASARA Collection will be at the end of the video.
