While Remote Play is a major component of the PS4’s architecture, when using the PS Vita and PS3 together, I found that it was hard to find out exactly what games would and wouldn’t work using the PS Vita’s Remote Play function. While we all know that there are a number of games available that have Cross Play functionality and can also share save game data, just how many are there that can be run from the PS3 on the PS Vita?
It’s our aim here to try to bring you a list of as many games as possible and let you know how well they do / don’t work on the PS Vita. We’ve tested everything using both a wi-fi connection and wired with the Vita directly linked to the PS3 using a USB cable. Because people are also interested in using the PS4 for Remote Play and now since its release the PlayStation TV instead of the PS Vita, we’ll be listing PS4 titles as well. With regards to the PSTV, assume that all titles run under Remote Play that do with the PS Vita unless stated.

PS3
At the moment, only a small percentage of PS3 games will run on the PS Vita using Remote Play. These are mainly downloadable titles from the PSN Store (any disc version should also be compatible), but we’ll try to update this list as often as we can. Because of the large library of available titles for the PS3, we have now revised this list to only include those titles that have been tested and found to work under Remote Play. The PlayStation TV does not offer Remote Play for PS3 titles.

What was quite disappointing was that out of about 90 PS3 titles that we tried, barely a handful worked through the PS Vita and those that did seem to be ones that could be regarded as more simplistic “casual” games.
PS4
The Remote Play function between the PS4 and the PS Vita / PlayStation TV supports almost every PS4 game with the exception of PlayStation Move games. As our team members manage to verify each game released we will update this list.

Despite Sony’s appararent disinterest in the PS Vita as a console, the instruction to developers to make Remote Play a standard feature of their games still seems to be in place.
Minis
At present, the Minis range are not playable on the Vita or PlayStation TV using Remote Play but are compatible on both systems natively.
PS One Classics
Most PS One titles that are downloadable from the store will work on the PS Vita and PlayStation TV natively negating the need for Remote Play. If you do wish to play these via Remote Play, these can be done using the PS Vita but to varying degrees of playability depending on the nature of the game. More action based games tend to struggle because of the lag inherent in Remote Play.
However, we have found on testing that disc-based PS One titles do work over Remote Play using the PS Vita when run on a PlayStation 3 although the reliability of these varies from one game to the next and the degree of lag present can play a factor in determining whether a game is playable or not.
PS2 Classics
At present, the PS2 Classics range that runs on the PS3 is not playable on the Vita or PlayStation TV using Remote Play.
The new Strider game for PS4 also works, just played it on Vita this afternoon.
Thanks for a recent PS3 list. Most lists back date to 2012 etc.
I was hoping to see if Destiny would be Remote Play compatible on PS3 so I can play away from home. But that doesn’t look like that is the case. I guess I better actually do some work then.
It is

Do you think Metal Gear Solid 5 phantom pain and metal gear online will be on vita or at least on remote play
Good job , thanks , I was looking for one of f1 title
Do you know something about?
Thanks
Is it possible that we try a game not on this list and it to work?
Hi, Alex!
Yes, it is. While we do everything we can to be up to date, it may be possible for a game to not be on the list and be compatible with PSTV.
Tried and tried my god of war collections disc but kept saying it could not play through remote play but your list and others says it can
Get South Park: Stick of Truth and Skyrim those would be awesome!!!
Skyrim….yes. A law shall state that every console should be able to run Skyrim.
We’re going to be updating this guide shortly with a completely new look and taking a new approach to it. While the PS3, Minis, PS One and PSP sections will remain the same we’re going to change focus with the PS4 so we’ll list titles that don’t work rather than those that do.
DC Universe Online is also remote play compatible
Thank you for the heads up!
