Hi, there! Marcos here. I’m quite happy to report that my “Game-A-Day” reviews have been getting a great response on social media, so I decided to continue doing them. This time I’m reviewing “Slain: Back From Hell”, a game which, when originally launched, had a ton of issues. They said “we’ll fix them!”, and as a fellow metalhead, I’m here to give them a shot to prove themselves right.
Hi! Today we’ll have another “game-a-day” tweet-review! This time it’s @DigeratiDM‘s “Slain: Back From Hell”! Starts in 10min – @MarcosCodas

Been looking forward to this one as I was a heavy metal producer in another life. Let’s see what’s what! – @MarcosCodas

Already the intro music is pretty darn good. The doom metal kinda stuff I used to play! – @MarcosCodas

I like the artwork so far, too. Except the titles. They look like I could have made them in Fireworks. – @MarcosCodas

Cheap death rewarded with a trophy? Hmmm… not sure about this. – @MarcosCodas
— Vita Player (@Vita_Player) March 11, 2017
There sure is a lot of dying in this game – @MarcosCodas

The action is damn good, though. Not much platforming yet but slashing is satisfyingly challenging – @MarcosCodas

Controls are as tight as they need to be, too, which makes the game enjoyable. – @MarcosCodas

The game is HARD, man. And I’m just not good, haha. Very apt name for the game, “Slain”. Happens a lot! – @MarcosCodas

The game has a nice balance between places where it’s best to Mega-Man it and places where it’s best to fight. – @MarcosCodas

Alright, that cheap death does it, haha. I’m alright with dying fair, but these phantom spikes out of nowhere don’t feel fair – @MarcosCodas

The core game is still great: fantastic music, good slashing, strategy comes into play. But the cheap deaths are frustrating. – @MarcosCodas

Overall a great game, and I think you would learn “the system” to see the cheap deaths coming. But It’s frustrating. – @MarcosCodas
— Vita Player (@Vita_Player) March 11, 2017
Not enough to put me off it, though! I can see myself coming back to it time and time again. Has that “one more time” thing – @MarcosCodas

And I’m not the only one to feel that way: reader Chase shared his thoughts on the difficulty with us through Twitter:
@Vita_Player @MarcosCodas I remember thinking that game was hard when I first started it… THEN THE NEXT LEVEL I PLAYED WAS WAYYYY HARDER!

Overall, though, I really liked it! I can see myself coming back to it. Thanks to Digerati for the code. See the trailer below.
