We’re known to be serious activists here at Vita Player when it comes to issues regarding the console that we are passionate about. Whether it is the lack of support given to PlayStation Mobile and its developers, our infamous campaign regarding the removal of the PS Vita’s 100 icon limit and various other issues that we have taken up as challenges we have wanted to overcome, we have always championed the cause of the PS Vita owner.
As part of our ongoing coverage and support of the PlayStation TV, we are now tackling another serious issue. As the name of the console implies, you would expect it to offer a degree of support for TV-related services but as with the “standard” PS Vita systems, sadly it doesn’t and if anything it offers gamers even less choice. We firmly believe that it’s now time that Sony Computer Entertainment addressed this shortcoming in the Vita’s software catalogue and provided us with a useable selection of apps in the same way that the PS3 offers gamers a range of music and video services on demand.
As such, we have launched a petition today for PS Vita owners and we’re asking for YOUR support. We don’t have a target in terms of the number of signatures that we want to reach but we hope to bring this to the attention of Andrew House and Shuhei Yoshida at Sony Computer Entertainment once we have sufficient signatories to try to persuade them that both the PS Vita and PlayStation TV should be supported with greater selection of media apps.
Please help us in signing the online petition at https://www.change.org/p/sony-computer-entertainment-sony-release-additional-streaming-media-apps-for-the-playstation-vita-playstation-tv-consoles and share the page and encourage as many others to do so as well. If enough of us ask for them, hopefully Sony Computer Entertainment will listen…
