100 Must-Buy PlayStation Mobile Games: 16. Mugogy Jump

100 Best PlayStation Mobile Games 016 - Mugogy Jump

From the outset, Mugogy Jump is one of those games that clearly shows its orgins as a mobile phone title (in this case specifically being an iOS release) but don’t let that put you off as it’s one of the best titles to grace PlayStation Mobile. Taking control of one of a group of Mugogy Monsters, you have to defend your underwater world against the evil ZZ Corp who have invaded your home. Using the touchscreen, you have to jump up through the water to reach the top of all of the game’s stages, avoiding or attacking your adversaries along the way, collecting coins before you reach the surface destroying the weapons they have placed to wipe out your fellow monsters…

You collect coins along the way that you can use to buy powerups in the in-game store as well as unlocking other Monsters to use in the game as you progress through the games four worlds spanning 60 levels. Coins? At this point you’re no doubt thinking that this is F2P or has in-app purchases but no, you pay for the game and that’s it – there’s nothing else to pay, optional or not so there are no hidden catches to the game – just solid entertaining gameplay throughout.

It’s easily one of the best looking games to grace PlayStation Mobile and one of the most compelling. It’s quick and easy to pick up and play but that simplicity doesn’t mean that it’s a game that you’ll grow tired of quickly. The levels are diverse and challenging with a difficulty curve that is well balanced to allow players of all abilities to ease into the game quickly. A game that’s not to be missed.
