You may have noticed that things have been quiet for some time here at Vita Player. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to bring you as many reviews as we would have liked, nor bring you all the latest news about the PS Vita as we want to. It’s certainly not because things are dead on the Vita front – far from it. There is an abundance of games being released for the console to the point that we simply can’t keep up with it for our own collections, let alone anything else and there are new games being announced all the time, but from a website point of view we’re struggling behind the scenes…
As some of our regular readers know, Vita Player is part of a larger group of sites run under the larger Infinite Frontiers banner – a larger geek group that has been around since 1989. While we have a wide ranging team of writers and contributors, in recent months real-life has had to take priority for most of our team. Work, health, family, higher education… and with everything we do being run in our spare time we have had to put most of our projects on the back-burner.
None of our websites or projects has escaped unscathed and Vita Player has suffered in this quite badly. 12 months ago we had a team of six active writers dedicated to the site and since that time this has dropped to just two with occasional support from a third. No matter how you look at it, that’s going to have an impact on our output. Affecting that even more is that both myself and Marcos have a great many personal commitments outside of all of our sites restricting our time further. We both desperately want to write more and have long lists of games built up in our review schedules, ideas for blog posts and features but the truth is that real life is getting in the way for both of us.
We have actively tried to recruit new writers but this has fallen through on several occasions now and when we have been investing time here, that’s taken even more of our time away from writing. Please don’t think that we’re ignoring Vita Player – far from it – but we don’t want you to think that we’re abandoning the site. We are just desperately trying to make as much time as we can to get back on track. We do have a new writer who will be joining us very shortly who we’re really excited about but in the meantime please bear with us.
