Vita Player Forum Closes

Vita Player Site Update

It is with great regret that after a great deal of deliberation, from today we have sadly closed the Vita Player Forum. For the last few months the forum has been extremely quite and hasn’t received as much use as we had expected when it was first launched to accompany the website. Many of our core staff here on the website have had to cope with personal issues away from the site which has limited our work both on the website and forum but at the same time we have noticed that general activity on the board itself has been a lot quieter than we have hoped that it would be.

Over the last few months, we have also strugged as a website where we have lost a few members of our core team. Again this has impacted on the forum meaning that we have had fewer and fewer people posting on a regular basis. As regular users of any forum will appreciate, as well as it’s strong membership, forum staff play a key role in keeping forum communities vibrant and active and without being able to devote as much time to the forum as we would have liked the board has sadly suffered.

Finally, as many of you will have noticed from the live feed here on the website, the forum has been subjected to an increasing number of attacks from spam bots and in the few days prior to us making the decision to close the board we had to remove 20 false user accounts and delete over 40 spam threads that happened in just a 24 hour period alone and our spam filters simply weren’t coping with the frequency of the attacks. With this continued mis-use of the board it was making it tougher to have it as an enjoyable forum to use.

As you will have seen, all of the posts here on the website provide you with the ability to comment on any of the news stories, reviews and blog posts that we have online (although for new users your first post will need to be approved by one of our site team) and don’t forget that you can interact with us and other site followers on our Facebook page as well so feel free to visit our Facebook page.
