Game Review: Bastion (PS Vita)

Aside from minor frame-rate issues, “Bastion” on Vita is one of the best games I’ve ever played, on this or any handheld, and beyond. It’s beautiful, fun and haunting. If you haven’t played it, grab a copy for less than a cup of espresso will cost you in London and enjoy game-making at its best.

“Teslagrad” is a fantastic puzzle-platformer, with amazing visuals and even greater level design. I do feel like the game could have used tighter controls and a bit more direction, but these things barely detract from what is a must-buy release on our beloved handheld.

Sadly, WRC 5 was made by a team who really understood the physics of a rally game (and a rally car), but not really the visual and aural appeal of the sport.

So, yes: the game doesn’t look particularly great, or sound all that awesome. But the mechanics are there, and when it comes to a rally game, that might just be enough to earn a very, very high spot in my book.

“Heroes of Loot” is all about having a no-frills portable dungeon crawler, and it excels at it. It’s fast, it’s fun, it’s frantic, and surprisingly, it’s quite cheap: a launch price of $3 makes this one hell of a bargain.
