As predicted, the launch of the PlayStation 4 has had an extremely positive impact on the PlayStation Vita as has been seen by it’s most recent sales figures according to Sony. Immediately following the release of the PS4, sales of the Vita skyrocketed by a staggering 68% and the following week saw a rise of 65%.
Sony Computer Entertainment have launched a recent marketing campaign focusing on the PS Vita promoting the interconnectivity between the two consoles along with extensive promotion for it’s flagship game Tearaway. Ben Law, Senior Product Manager for Sony stated that “PS Vita sales wise we are continuing to see strong week-on-week growth since our latest campaign kicked in”.
He also added that “The new TV advert went live this week and we’ve already seen amazing feedback from PS4 owners on the Remote Play feature, and the success of Tearaway highlights what an great proposition PS Vita is, either as a stand-alone device or as the perfect companion to PS4.”
