It appears that Sony are actually making the offer of the free PlayStation TV, according to the press release I have just received;
“Sony Computer Entertainment UK (SCE UK) today announced the 1TB Ultimate Player Edition PlayStation 4 will be available in the United Kingdom at a suggested retail price of GBP 349.99 from July 15th. For a limited time at participating retailers and only at launch, the 1TB PS4 will be bundled with PlayStation TV, the innovative micro console that streams content from PS4 to a second screen, at no extra cost while stock lasts.”
So expect the offer to roll out to major retailers in time for the launch of the 1TB PS4 next Wednesday, but be aware the wording above, so be quick!

GAME giving away PlayStation TVs in latest promotional deal.
The high street chain GAME announced that, for a limited time only, they will be giving away PlayStation TVs to customers who place preorders for the new 1Tb model of the PlayStation 4 in store and secure their preorder with a £20 deposit.
The microconsole has seen little promotion from the retailer as anything other than a PS4 (as have most outlets in the West) which has resulted in poor sales for the machine. While this move could be seen as another nail in the coffin for the PSTV and is most likely a move to both clear excess stocks and boost sales of the new PS4, as with all previous promotional campaigns involving the PlayStation TV it does mean that more Vitas will enter gamers homes even if it is by stealth means.
While these PSTVs are likely to be used as Remote Play devices primarily it is quite probably that many users will also try at least some of the Vita’s library by way of Cross Buy or PlayStation Plus initially so this could be a good thing for the Vita while the offer is running.
For those of you thinking of buying a PS4, would this offer be the final deal breaker to encourage you to take the plunge? Let us know in the comments below.
