EU PlayStation Store Update – 26th July 2016

News

Contrary to the state of play in the retail sector, there continues to be a steady flow of titles being released for the PS Vita to the masses, at least in digital form through the PlayStation Store and while some of the latest releases do get a physical release, for many of us we do have to settle for digital downloads thanks to the lack of awareness amongst the trade. It’s not all bad though as there’s plenty of new content once again to keep us Vita owners happy…

Despite still no sign (or word from Telltale Games) of a release date for the PS Vita version, episode seven of Minecraft Story Mode hits the Store for the PS3 and PS4 and the PS4 also sees the release of Hyper Light Drifter which is set to see a Vita release later this year. If this is still set to be Cross Buy which we expect, then it may be worth picking up now if you own a PS4 as well as a Vita.

On the Vita front, fans of Japanese games are in for a real treat this week as we get the release of AW Pheonix Festa from Bandai Namco (which is not only PSTV compatible but we would also assume is getting a physical release too), Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice Of Fate – the retro styled RPG from Aksys, and Laser Disco Defenders. On the DLC front we’re also getting the latest expansions for Minecraft keeping the game up-to-date with the PS3 and PS4 versions. With this support, it’s no wonder it’s sold over 2m copies on the Vita!

Strangely, the PlayStation Blog also reports that Retro City Rampage DX is released this week for the PS Vita, PS3 and PS4… a game that was released about two years ago, along with its limited edition physical release that shipped over a year ago!
