EU PlayStation Plus Update – February 2016

It’s February, it’s the season of love and we’re about to see our second helping of titles for the year from Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation Plus for gamers here in the EU. In recent months, it’s not just PS Vita owners but gamers across the entire PlayStation community who have felt rather disillusioned at the offerings that have been forthcoming as part of the Instant Games Collection. With the increase in price of the 3-month subscription package from £11.99 to £14.99 we can only hope that there is not only a greater diversity in games on offer but more titles offered to PS Vita owners. Anyway without further ado, let’s take a look at what’s coming this month…

Hitting PlayStation Plus this time are six new releases across the three formats this time. The headline game this month is Sony’s multiplayer shooter Helldivers which is available for all three platforms. Making its debut on PS+ is Nom Nom Galaxy for the PS4 and PS3 owners will be happy to see the arrival of both Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and Grid Autosport. Wrapping up the offerings for the month are the PS Vita releases and we’re getting Lemmings Touch and another Cross Buy title shared with the other platforms in the shape of Curve Digital’s Nova-111.

Overall it’s not a particularly bad selection of games this time around and again PS Vita owners are getting three titles this month (even if two of them are Cross Buy) but some gamers are already angered at Sony’s decision to include Lemmings Touch considering the fact that it is – at the time of writing this – currently on sale in the PlayStation Store for just £2.49 and many gamers have taken advantage of that offer price… and it’s not the first time that has happened. It does beg the question as to what titles are likely to appear in future PlayStation Plus updates and whether or not it is worth looking to current Store sales as an indicator as to what might appear.

All of that aside, in summary these are what you can expect to find waiting for you in the Store from around noon on 2nd February 2016 so if you haven’t already downloaded the January PlayStation Plus titles yet, you’d better hurry!

  • Helldivers (PS4/PS3/PS Vita)
  • Nom Nom Galaxy (PS4)
  • Persona 4 Arena Ultimax (PS3)
  • Grid Autosport (PS3)
  • Lemmings Touch (PS Vita)
  • Nova 111 (PS4/PS3/PS Vita)

Don’t forget, if you aren’t a PS3 or PS4 owner it’s still worth going to the PlayStation Store on a PC and getting the games for the systems you don’t own. If any of these titles receive a PS Vita port in the future with Cross Buy support you’ll get it absolutely FREE! Remember Resogun folks?!
