Disney Infinity Servers To Close In March 2017

Disney Infinity 2.0

While the Toys To Life genre hasn’t really made a huge impact on the PS Vita, Disney Infinity 2.0 – despite all of its shortcomings – was a good attempt at bringing the format to the handheld and coped well compared to its console counterpart. However, things have been looking somewhat bleak for all versions of the game since Disney Interactive announced in May that the series was being brought to an end with the latest wave of expansions for Disney Infinity 3.0.

Disney have now confirmed that they are to commence rolling out the shutdown of the online side of the game. This has already started for the online versions of the Disney Infinity 2.0 which can no longer accept in-game purchases, and these versions will no longer function from the end of September 2016. While the PC version will still be playable offline, in-game purchases (which is how PC owners obtain characters, Playsets and Powerdiscs) will no longer be possible, and the game will be deactivated from 3rd March 2017.

All the remaining console versions of all the games – including the PS Vita – will still be fully playable but all online features will no longer be available after this time so if you haven’t downloaded any of the great user-created levels yet we’d strongly advise that you do so as soon as possible before they disappear forever!
