I’m about an hour and a half into the game, and already the story has so many layers, it would have easily won “Ace of Cakes” (don’t judge, my girlfriend is a pastry chef).

We, as an industry, are constantly trying to validate videogames as works of art. However, sometimes we tend to leave emotion out of the equation. And SMRPG is a work of love. It has a huge heart, it plays well, it looks great, sounds awesome.

Aside from minor frame-rate issues, “Bastion” on Vita is one of the best games I’ve ever played, on this or any handheld, and beyond. It’s beautiful, fun and haunting. If you haven’t played it, grab a copy for less than a cup of espresso will cost you in London and enjoy game-making at its best.
There really isn’t that much more to say about DT2. If you like first-person dungeon crawlers, this is a solid choice. If you like JRPGs with fan-service, this is a no-brainer. And if you’re on the sensitive side about cartoon girls and how they are depicted in video games, this is definitely not the game for you.
“Teslagrad” is a fantastic puzzle-platformer, with amazing visuals and even greater level design. I do feel like the game could have used tighter controls and a bit more direction, but these things barely detract from what is a must-buy release on our beloved handheld.
