Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night delayed until 2018

It has been announced that the release date of the spiritual successor to Castlevania, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, has been put back a year to 2018 by its developers. Project director and Castlevania creator Koji “Iga” Igarashi said in an update to Kickstarter backer that he believed that in order to ensure that the game met his vision to his standards that he would rather delay the game and bring in additional developers rather than bring out a rushed product.

The latest backer update reported:

Koji Igarashi: “The last thing I want to do is keep our backers waiting, but after receiving such incredible support, I feel responsible for delivering the best product I possibly can. Again, I offer my sincerest apologies.”

All of us on the campaign and development sides of the team are looking forward to playing the finished game as soon as we can, but as IGA says, we also want this game to be “done right the first time.”

We’re still looking forward to this game when it hits multiple formats including the PS Vita in the future.
