Super Meat Boy coming to PS Vita (and PS4) fall 2015

Yesterday, Team Meat, a 2-person indie devteam, announced that Super Meat Boy is coming to Playstation 4 and PS Vita later this year. An exact date was not revealed other than ‘fall 2015’, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for that.

On top of that, Team Meat also revealed that the game will be free to every subscriber of PS Plus. Whether this means Super Meat Boy will be one of the Instant Game Collection games, or an extra free game outside the standard games, is not yet known.

Super Meat Boy is a platformer featuring a small, dark red, cube-shaped skinless boy aptly named Meat Boy, who must save his cube-shaped, heavily bandaged girlfriend Bandage Girl from a fetus in a tuxedo wearing a top hat and a monocle (yes, you read that correct). The game is divided into chapters, which together contain over 300 levels.

The first release of the game goes way back to 2010, but this will be the first time the game features on a Playstation console, including our beloved portable device!

I guess it’s time for Team Meat to start altering the F. A. Q. on their website, which currently quotes:

“Question: Is Super Meat Boy coming out on [..]?
Answer: No, Super Meat Boy is out on every platform that it is ever going to come out on.
