Sony Interactive Entertainment have just announced the games that will be coming our way this month from PlayStation Plus as part of the Instant Games Collection and sadly it seems as if we’re back to normal with the PS Vita getting short-changed in the line-up…
The star of the show for the month is making its way to the PS4 with Little Big Planet 3 and I’d say that it’s safe to assume that this is where most of the budget has gone. This is being backed up by Not a Hero. The PS3 gets a solitary exclusive title, Anna: Extended Edition and then has to share its second title Starwhal with the PS4 as a Cross Buy release. The PS Vita fares no better with both of its games being Cross Buy with the PS4 and seeing us getting Ninja Senki DX and TorqueL.
All of these will be available to download from the PlayStation Store from 7th February 2017. To sum up, the full list is:-

Looking at this month as a whole for PS Vita owners, it’s one of the worst months I can recall. TorqueL has had nothing but poor reviews from the press (ourselves included) and was regarded as being sub-standard at best. Infact reportedly all PlayStation Plus titles were supposed to be included on the basis that they achieved a Metacritic score of 70+ yet TorqueL has yet to achieve any score from the website for the PS Vita or PS4 version so its inclusion in the IGC is dubious at best.
Ninja Senki DX on the other hand resembles an 8-bit platform game. Now I love retro and retro-styled games passionately but this DX edition is an update of a game first released in 2011 and this version sold for just £3.99 on the store. Compared with what is being offered to PS3 owners, and the fact that PS4 owners are getting FIVE games out of the six on offer, it seems as if Vita owners are again being treated like second-class citizens. Granted, the PS3 titles don’t seem to be much better but as Sony Interactive Entertainment are taking a regular subscription fee from us, it’s time we started seeing some form of equal treatment for our money.
