Jetpack Joyride Update Released For PS Vita

Jetpack Joyride PS Vita

A few days ago, the PS Vita version of Jetpack Joyride was updated to version 1.01. While most of the updates were minor bug fixes and tweaks and a slight aesthetic improvement there are a couple of welcome changes to the game. With regards to the named bugs to be honest I haven’t experienced any of these that they have mentioned so we would say that these occur relatively infrequently. As for the improvements though, these are such that they mean that we are having to go back once more and revisit our review of the game here!

There is one change that isn’t mentioned in the list that I noticed playing the game. First, a new jetpack has been added to the list of those available to purchase. While I haven’t been able to unlock it to try it out yet, it’s nice to see that the game is being updated and expanded. Similarly, two new items of clothing have also been added. Also, Twitter integration has now been included so you can share screenshots and scores with your followers.

The main update is button support. From this update, the game can be controlled using the X button during the game for the jetpack itself. While this may only seem like a minor change, it alters the gameplay dramatically and makes the game considerably easier to play and now lifts it head-and-shoulders above all of the other versions of the game that are available. All of the menus still need to be navigated using the touch screen but the gameplay is the most important thing.

As you know, we have compared all the different versions of the game recently and as you can imagine these changes have changed how the PS Vita stacks up against its rivals. You can read the revised comparison here. The update is free but needs to be done manually so remember to do it next time you run the game.
